Android Pay Is Coming to Google Assistant

Google announced a series of changes to its conversational assistant, also known as Google, at the Google I/O last week. With the new launch of Google O, users will be able to send money to friends and family through Google Assistant.

Sending money to a contact using Google Assistant

According to Android Developers, Google will begin rolling out this service for users enabling them commands like "Ok Google, send $10 to Jane for pizza." on their Google Home or Android device if a debit or credit card is linked to the service. Google Assistant will then show the last four digits of the card you're using to send the money from, who you're sending the money to and just how much will be sent. Your fingerprint will be used to confirm the transaction or you can type in your PIN/Password, and you’re all set.

The announcement didn't include which security confirmations you'll need when using the Google Home. We will have to wait for the initial release of this feature to the public for this information to be shared. It is anyone's guess at this stage, but with Google claiming this is a few months out, the "Made By Google" event this September will probably be the likely release date, if not sooner. For now, developers get to sign up for early access of the service.
