Gmail SMTP not working Zimbra

For quite some time my gmail SMTP hasn’t been working using Zimbra – after quite a bit of Googling I never found a solution. So here it is:

Disable SMTP scanning in your AVAST

Some might consider this unsafe – so you can add an exception or rule set to allow this. Simple solution just disable the SMTP scanning altogether ?
