How To install Etcher on Ubuntu

Etcher is a cross-platform open software that allows you to burn images to SD cards and USB drives with ease and in a safe manner. Using Etcher you can also create a bootable USB.

While Etcher is available for download on it's Github page, the following instructions assume you require a Debian distribution package.

Begin by downloading the latest version. The default download is Home -> Downloads on Ubuntu. Then, open your terminal with:

Ctrl+Alt+T

Run these commands in your terminal, one after the other:

cd Downloads

sudo ./Etcher-linux-x64.AppImage

Hit

Enter

Respond in the affirmative by typing
y

Your download will begin and the program will run upon completion.
