Google Attends To #DataMustFall

Triangle is a Google app that allows you to take control of which other apps can use your mobile data. If you’re stuck in an expensive postpaid plan or you passively support #DataMustFall from your prepaid phone, you should try it out.
All you’d need is to download the app from the Google Play Store, run it, grant the necessary permissions and you will be able to monitor data usage. It also allows you to set up a VPN for increased browsing security. It can restrict specific apps from consuming too much data and works on all spectrums from 2G going all the way to 4G LTE-Advanced.

This can come in handy for those times when you might forget that you are operating on limited data, or worse, forget to buy data bundles.

If your phone is loaded with data thirsty applications, like Instagram or Tumblr you may want to consider this app, this app will be necessary as it also prevents apps from consuming data in the background without your knowledge unbeknownst to you without affecting notifications from instant messaging applications.

Personal Push allows you to grant certain apps access to your mobile data for between ten and thirty minutes from a prompt when the app is launched. This might prove annoying after a while, but it might have the added benefit of not idly using your phone and compromising battery life. There are rewards to be earned from running app prompts, but these seem to be available for a handful of carriers in the Asia-Pacific region where this application is still in beta trial.
